There is no greatness where there is no simplicity, goodness and truth. -Tolstoy
I've been trying to find time to paint this image for some time, I just did a little study of the actual photo while I was waiting for some other painting to dry, I liked how it turned out, it was fun, I haven't been using pencil drawings at all lately. So my proportions are probably really off but I like it.
The above image is a study from a picture I cut out of some magazine, I think I was looking at some Sargent work that day so I ended up using some Sargent methods, I think it turned out fun.
Below is just a small study of clouds, I think I needed more pigment, it was tough to do the dragging because I waited too long and my paper was slightly dry.
Below is a study from the National Geographic I was trying to get back into the swing of things, actually, this semester I've been using old paper that's really hard to work with, so I was pretty happy with this because it actually did kind of what i desired, stupid dumb paper.
